Spider-Man: Miles Morales will have an optional mode that will allow us to play it at 4K and 60 fps .
This has been confirmed by Insomniac Games on their official Twitter account.
It is a kind of “Performance Mode” that will prioritize the game to be more fluid and with a higher resolution, while the other mode will probably emphasize graphic detail at the cost of sacrificing frame rate per second and resolution.
The Insomniac Games message is worded in a way that can create some confusion , as we might somehow think that Spider-Man: Miles Morales will make us choose between playing 4K or doing it at 60fps .
However, everything indicates that the Performance Mode will be oriented to achieve a fluid experience at the highest possible resolution, while sacrificing some aspects of its graphic section.
Spider-Man: Miles Morales Performance Mode or Quality Mode
In fact Spider-Man: Miles Morales will have ray tracing on PS5 , so the Performance Mode might be without this technology to run the game at a higher frame rate per second.
Being an optional mode, we understand that by default the game will emphasize the graphic section in more detail, ray tracing and a lower frame rate per second, probably at 30 fps .
We have already seen these possibilities in other console games. Precisely Bluepoint clarified that Demon’s Souls Remake will come to PS5 with two graphic modes: “Players can choose between two graphic modes to play : one focused on fidelity and the other on the rate of images per second”, they said from the study in charge of this adaptation to the next-gen console from Sony.
It remains to be seen if Insomniac Games sheds a little more light on the subject as it did when it clarified that Spider-Man: Miles Morales is an independent game similar to Uncharted: Lost Legacy or yes, on the contrary, we will have to wait for its premiere in PS5 to check how these modes work.
About its launch, we do not know much more than that it will be produced throughout 2020 exclusively on the new Sony game console.
