The technological brand Samsung has presented its new PCIe 4.0 SSD last weekend that became the fastest ever hard drive for PC, surpassing those of PS5 and Xbox Series X.
These PCIe 4.0 SSD will be launched for gamers soon in both Spanish hardware stores and the rest of the world.
These PCIe 4.0 SSD hard drives have been dubbed as the 980 Pro SSD (being the direct successors of the 970 Pro) and comes with a PCIe 4.0 interface under the arm with a standard M.2 2280 format and with three different storage options of 250GB, 500GB and the crown star that will be of 1TB capacity.
In terms of speeds, Samsung points out that its new memories will be able to reach read speeds of up to 7000 MB / s and write speeds of up to 5,000 MB / s with a random read and write performance of up to 1,000,000 / 1,000 .000 IOPS exceeding the speeds of next-gen PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles reaching 5500MB / s and 2400MB / s respectively .
The average consumption of these SSD units will be 6.2W (with a maximum of 8.9W), they promise a duration of 1.5 million hours of use and, at the moment, we do not know the exact price and date on which it will be released.
