The city of San Francisco and Yosemite National Park, both in California, will appear on Horizon Forbidden West as fully explorable open stages.
During the PS5 digital presentation event held last June, Guerrilla Games showed its new video game for the first time: Horizon Forbidden West .
This sequel to their open-world action adventure was released along with a trailer that combined cinematic scenes with other gameplay sections.
Today we got to know more details of this new installment thanks to the Official Magazine of the British PlayStation.
The next issue of this print publication, September 2020, takes a tour of certain developments in Horizon Forbidden West and among them confirms that Aloy’s new adventure will allow us to explore the city of San Francisco and Yosemite National Park , one of the best known natural monuments in the United States located in the state of California.

The location where the game’s plot was to take place was never confirmed in official information released alongside the first Horizon Forbidden West trailer , although some users used the video footage to guess that it would most likely take place between Utah, Nevada and California.
In fact, one user even compared the actual locations in San Francisco with those seen in that trailer .
Now, thanks to the Official PlayStation Magazine we know for sure that Aloy will visit both San Francisco and Yosemite and we will be able to explore both scenarios freely.
Horizon Forbidden West is coming to PS5 in 2021 by leveraging the technical capabilities of Sony’s next-gen console.
One of the aspects that stand out most from its creators is that it will not have load times thanks to the speed of the PS5 SSD, something that can be very useful for open world games, for example, fast travel situations or when a previous checkpoint is restored.
