5 Smartphone myths that people still believe
Today we are going to try to debunk five Smartphone myths that many consumers continue to believe .
Not all users have the same technological knowledge and for that reason it is more than possible that the information is not well received and that even some concepts are misunderstood.
Today’s cell phones look little or nothing like those of years ago . More powerful new features and specifications as well as sleeker designs.
1. Smartphone myths -More RAM doesn’t mean faster phones
RAM is one of the most important elements not only in smartphones but also in many other technological devices.
What many users believe is that the more RAM the faster the phone will be and this is not the case at all .
We must bear in mind that there are different types of RAM memory so at the moment of truth and without forgetting that RAM is important, if what we want is a really powerful and fast mobile, it is better to look at the type of processor that mount the device.
2. More megapixels doesn’t means better photo quality
Another great myth is that a smartphone with a higher number of megapixels in a camera equals better quality of your photos .
Of course this is not the case and you only have to see one example: iPhones and Pixel phones
The Google phone does not have an incredible number of megapixels and despite them it takes much better quality photographs than other terminals with higher figures.
This implies that numbers are not as important as software or image processing is . That is to say, that the 108 megapixels is more marketing than anything else .
3. Not all IP phones are waterproof
Just because a smartphone is IP certified does not mean that it is resistant or submersible to water. Be very careful when buying a phone as we can later get an unpleasant surprise.
4. 2K is not the same as QHD
Again we come back with a marketing strategy that many companies use to promote their mobile phones. That is, 2K is not equal to QHD .
Although 2K and QHD are often used interchangeably, the truth is that they are not the same . The 2K is a resolution of 2040 x 1080 while the QHD has 2560 x 1920.
5. The real difference between USB Type-C and Micro USB
Although either to unify cables or to avoid so much waste, we must stop buying products with Micro USB and switch to USB type C. It is a more modern connector and without a doubt the 2020 standard.
But that does not mean that USB C is always faster than micro USB since there are different types of one and the other. What we really have to look at is whether the mobile we are going to buy uses USB 3.0 protocol and not 2.0 .
